The Conference
ICE is very pleased to announce the tenth in this highly-regarded series of specialist conferences. Known for offering the best international forum for the discussion of the latest developments as well as informed debate – every event in the ‘Breakwaters’ series has ensured that advances in coastal engineering are appropriately highlighted.
Whilst retaining the historical coverage on shoreline structures, coastal processes, and design and construction of breakwaters and related structures, the conference will extend the marine energy theme initiated with the 2009 event.
The conference will showcase up to 150 technical papers over three days covering all aspects of coastal engineering. All papers in this series are rigorously peer reviewed so will have an in-depth technical aspect giving all attendees access to the highest quality information. Papers are available to delegates in advance of the event to stimulate discussion, and papers are discussed in formal proceedings following the event.
In addition to the main session presentations, the ‘Fringe’ will give opportunities for presentations of recent news, continuing research, and developments in progress. Workshops, short courses and technical visits will also be offered as part of the event.

Call for Papers
Prospective authors will be invited to submit abstracts within any of the relevant themes or topics by 1 June 2012.
Full abstract guidelines and an abstract template are available for download. All abstracts must be in English, and submitted electronically at ice-breakwaters.com

Submission is not yet open, but to register an interest email events@ice.org.uk

Sponsorship and Exhibition
Do you need to address a key global audience of coastal engineers? Would you like to use Coasts, Marine Structures and Breakwaters as a
meeting point? If so, contact us; the ICE will do the hard work for you, leaving you free to plan the content of your meeting. Use this unique opportunity of a gathering of 400–500 of the worlds leading coastal engineers to launch and showcase new and exciting coastal products: a technical exhibition will be an integral feature of the conference. Sponsoring or exhibiting at this event will allow your company to:
  • Associate your business with the professionalism and excellence the
    ICE stands for
  • Have direct access to those at the forefront of research into coastal
    engineering
  • Be part of the legacy of the event by being included in the post event
    published proceedings
  • Generate new leads for your business
